Area of Expertise
Chantal’s expertise covers divorce, financial proceedings and children related issues within both married and unmarried families and includes the following:-
- Divorce, Separation and Civil Partnerships – financial matters and repercussions for children
- Pre-nuptial and cohabitation agreements
- Domestic abuse – psychological and physical
- Child arrangements issues – including schooling, residence, contact-time and relocation
- Separation agreements and cohabitation disputes
- Injunctions – non-molestation orders, occupation orders and financial freezing orders
Chantal is a collaborative lawyer and was one of the first solicitor mediators in the area to become accredited with the Family Mediation Council.
Chantal appreciates that every person is unique with their own individual circumstances, background and concerns. She also understands that consulting a solicitor with regard to a family law matter can be an extremely difficult step to take. This appreciation together with her significant legal skills enables her to help clients find strength at difficult times and to feel fully supported.
In addition to being an active member of the family law association, Resolution which advocates a non-confrontational approach to divorce, Chantal is training to become a qualified counsellor as she believes that emotional support for clients going through separation and/or divorce is vital. Chantal assists in a locally run Restored Lives course in her spare time. This is a course to help people recover from the experience of divorce and relationship breakdown and to rebuild self-confidence.
In my personal time…
Chantal enjoys spending time with her two young sons who keep her very busy in her personal time. Chantal also enjoys yoga and running and is currently training to be a volunteer counsellor with Cruz Bereavement Care.
