Elder
Client Services Solicitors Bournemouth
Whether you are making
plans for you own retirement and old age or making plans on
behalf of someone who no longer holds the capacity to do so
themselves, the task is inevitably difficult. With over 20
years specialist experience in this area of work we are able to
help you prepare for these situations, providing you with
specialist tailored advice, leaving you with total peace of
mind.
Here are a few of the
Elder Client Services we can advise you on;
Lasting Power of
Attorney (LPA's)
A Lasting Power of
Attorney (LPA) is a legal document which contains details of
someone you trust (an Attorney) who will go on to make
decisions on your behalf. Decisions can be made on issues such
as property and your personal welfare at a time in the future
when you no longer wish to make decisions or you are no longer
able to make the decisions yourself due to a lack of mental
capacity.
Trusts
A Trust is an
agreement whereby assets are controlled by one person, either
you or a nominated third person, for the benefit of
individual(s) or charitable organisations (beneficiaries) that
stands to gain from the Trust being established. We can help
you create an appropriate Trust which will protect the
interests of the chosen beneficiaries and help to save tax,
where applicable.
Equity
Release
Many of us spend the
best part of our working lives planning and saving for the
future, however, ensuring that sufficient funds are in place to
maintain a comfortable life is not always as simple as you
might hope. A popular financing tool for many people is to
release equity from their property or another asset which has
substantial capital value. This means you can obtain a steady
stream of income or a capital sum whilst still retaining the
use of your home throughout your retirement. We can give
straightforward professional advice as to the advantages and
disadvantages of the equity release scheme at an early stage.
We can also recommend suitable professionally qualified
independent mortgage advisers, if required.
Care Home Fees
Care Home fees are
expensive. Everyone, by law, is required to contribute out of
their own funds a large share of their care home fees. However,
circumstances can vary. If a person has a relatively small
amount of capital and income available and/or they are
suffering from a highly debilitative illness, provision will be
made. Each person's circumstances differ and this is reflected
in the way in which you are assessed in respect of both your
financial and medical circumstances. Solomons Solicitors can
give you practical and informative advice to help you best plan
for dealing with these circumstances.
